Hopkins farms case study
Hopkins Farms is a fifth generation farm located in Gilson,
Illinois. Frank has grown the farming operation to 3,500
tillable acres of corn and soybeans, the farm contract
finishes 25,000 hogs per year, and has a cow/calf herd. Frank
and his wife Dot are the owner-operators of the operation.
They have three children, Kathleen who recently graduated
from the University of Illinois with an Animal Science degree
and is working off the farm in the pork industry, and twins
Zachary and Allison who will be attending the college of
ACES at the University of Illinois this fall.
